US Classic.

So I'm going to the Senior Womens US Classic!
I'm so excited!
But I don't have any clue that most of the competitors there will be.
I've heard Ashley Priess will be there.
And from my own observations: Randi Stageberg.
But who else?

New Montages!

I have two new montages!
The first is a competition montage of the 2008 Europeans (my first competition montage ever!) The song doesn't have a name, its just the Rolex Commercial song.

And the other is a new floor montage. The song is "I Can't Decide" by The Scissor Sisters.

Oh, the song is not censored. =]

Daiane Dos Santos
made her 2008 debut, first competition after surgery
with the same routine she performed at Worlds last year.
A watered down routine with no double arabian.

So yeah, I'm kinda sad
I'm still hoping she is up to full strength by Beijing.
There are rumours going around saying she'll have the Chusovitina and a Whip + Double Layout by the Olympics (omg, Maloney #2)
I just hope she gets the gold.
Oh, and the last rumour?
That she is training the Produnova vault.

He Kexin made history last saturday
At the recent Cottbus World Cup.
Her score on uneven bars
Is the highest score I've ever seen in gymnastics.

Pacific Rim! <3

The Pacific Rim competition was held this weekend (29.Mar - 30.Mar)
And I have to say, I'm very pleased with the results (although some things went south)
Number 1. JANA BIEGER WON BARS! Nastia screwed up, majorily. She fell on her gienger, messed up her Pak Salto for the second night in a row, and landed very low on her double front half out, resulting in a score of 15.225 (A=7.4, B=7.825). Jana then went next with a solid routine, scoring a 15.550. Kristina Vaculik went after Jana and tied with Nastia for the silver medal. This result will GREATLY help Jana on her quest for the Olympic team. In qualifications in Stuttgart, our second highest bar worker scored a 15.000 (Shayla Worley). That puts Jana as one of the top 3 bar workers in the USA right now.
Number 2. DARLENE HILL WON FLOOR! With a 15.425 none-the-less! In second place was Daria Joura (15.300) and in third place was Anna Myzdrikova (15.050). The highest score on floor last year was Cheng Fei's 15.375 in qualifications at Worlds. Darlene Hill scored half a point above that. Both Daria's and Darlene's scores were high enough for Gold in event finals at Worlds (compared to Shawn Johnson's 15.250) The lowest score to get into finals was Jiang Yuyuan's 14.750, which means the top 3 would have made finals last year.
With those two things, I'm very happy =]

2. Jade Barbosa
Floor will rise three tenths if she adds the whip + triple and the chusovitina into her routine. 25.8 -> 26.1

2. Shawn Johnson
Bars should rise at least by one tenth from her tkatchev, and her floor will rise .2 tenths for a Whip + Triple inserted. 25.8 -> 26.1

2. Vanessa Ferrari
Vanessa has been rumoured an Amanar if she heals from her injury. 25.8 -> 26.5

5. Daria Joura
Daria has been shown to be training a Double Layout, which will add .1 on her FX score
25.5 -> 25.6

6. Shayla Worley
If Shayla upgrades from Tarasevich to a Randi with a layout, her A-Score will rise .2 tenths 25.3 -> 25.5

7. Nastia Liukin
I've heard Nastia has been training a bar routine of a 7.4 A-Score. If she does that, her A-Score will rise .3 tenths. 25.2 -> 25.5

8. Beth Tweddle
If Beth upgrades vault from a 1.5Y to a DTY, her A-Score will rise three tenths. 24.7 -> 25.0

8. Jiang Yuyuan
Jiang has been rumoured an upgrade to an Amanar, which will raise her A-Score by seven tenths. 24.7 -> 25.4

So, with those upgrades underway, here is the new list.

The reason why Ferrari has been so hated on is because she won 2006 with a fall, which happened to be the first World Championships since the new code has been debuted. If she would have won without a fall, I feel many more people would appreciate her than what they do.

Now, the mens competition is (to quote Christian Siriano) "FIERCE", but on the womens side...yikes. And to make things even worse, Shayla Worley might not be competiting, she might be "injured" again. Its horrible. Mattie Larson might be competiting for her instead, but I've also heard that she isn't the replacement. At the next "verification camp", we will see who will compete. Other than the debut's of the American's new routines and upgrades and Xiao Tingting's bar routine (if NBC shows that), the competition on the womens side will be more than lackluster.

Ther American Cup is supposed to be aired "live" on March 1st on NBC.
