An Izbasa Upgrade.

I would like to share with you
a floor routine from Sandra Raluca Izbasa
She changed her first pass, I suggest you pay close attention.

Her first pass is a back-layout 1 1/2 twist immediate front-layout double twist.
She follows that up with a tucked full-in, then a back-layout 2 1/2 twist immediate front-layout full. Her fourth pass is a back-layout double twist and she wraps up with a back-layout triple twist.
Saying she got credited with everything here, her A-Score comes out to 6.5.
6.5?
Why'd she upgrade then? Her Euros routine had a 6.5.
Well, here's why.
The back-layout double twist, she will not do that in Beijing.
Rumors have flown about the possibility of a 6.7 and a 6.8 routine.
She can have a 6.7 routine if she changes the tucked full-in to piked and adds a tucked full-in as a fourth pass.
She could get a 6.9 with this routine.

Skills
Roundoff, Whip, Piked Full-In [A+E] (.2 bonus)
Roundoff, Back-Layout 1 1/2 + Front Double Twist [C+D] (.2 bonus)
Triple Spin [C]
Roundoff, BHS, Back-Layout 2 1/2 + Front Layout Full [D+C] (.2 bonus)
Roundoff, BHS, Tucked Full-In [E]
Switch Split 1/1 [C] + Switch Split 1/2 [C]
Roundoff, BHS, Back-Layout Triple Twist [E]
Total Skills
A[CCCCCDDEEE] (.6 bonus)
4.4 + 2.5 for requirments.
6.9.

Even if she doesn't upgrade to the routine I've just posted, a 6.7 in Beijing will be huge, and most likely the highest A-Score on floor there.

Wow.

A-Score Totals.

Thanks to Sandra at GYMWORLD, Here is a list of projected A-Score totals for top AAers as of now.

1. 25.9 Steliana Nistor (5.8 7.1 6.9 6.1)
2. 25.8 Jade Barbosa (6.5 6.6 6.6 6.1)
2. 25.8 Shawn Johnson (6.5 6.2 6.9 6.2)
2. 25.8 Vanessa Ferrari (5.8 6.8 6.7 6.5)
5. 25.5 Daria Joura (6.5 6.4 6.5 6.1)
6. 25.3 Shayla Worley (5.8 6.7 6.9 5.9)
7. 25.2 Nastia Liukin (5.8 7.1 6.5 5.8)
8. 24.7 Beth Tweddle (5.5 7.1 5.8 6.3)
8. 24.7 Jiang Yuyuan (5.8 6.3 6.4 6.2)
10. 24.6 Ek. Kramarenko (5.8 6.6 6.5 5.7)
11. 24.5 Yulia Lozheco (5.5 6.0 7.0 6.0)
*Shawn and Joura with a Amanar, Nastia and Shayla with a DTY.

Now, from here we have some deviations to do. I'm going to go through and add the rumoured upgrades I know about for each gymnast and add that to their A-Score total.

2. Jade Barbosa
Floor will rise three tenths if she adds the whip + triple and the chusovitina into her routine. 25.8 -> 26.1

2. Shawn Johnson
Bars should rise at least by one tenth from her tkatchev, and her floor will rise .2 tenths for a Whip + Triple inserted. 25.8 -> 26.1

2. Vanessa Ferrari
Vanessa has been rumoured an Amanar if she heals from her injury. 25.8 -> 26.5

5. Daria Joura
Daria has been shown to be training a Double Layout, which will add .1 on her FX score
25.5 -> 25.6

6. Shayla Worley
If Shayla upgrades from Tarasevich to a Randi with a layout, her A-Score will rise .2 tenths 25.3 -> 25.5

7. Nastia Liukin
I've heard Nastia has been training a bar routine of a 7.4 A-Score. If she does that, her A-Score will rise .3 tenths. 25.2 -> 25.5

8. Beth Tweddle
If Beth upgrades vault from a 1.5Y to a DTY, her A-Score will rise three tenths. 24.7 -> 25.0

8. Jiang Yuyuan
Jiang has been rumoured an upgrade to an Amanar, which will raise her A-Score by seven tenths. 24.7 -> 25.4

So, with those upgrades underway, here is the new list.

1) 26.5 - Vanessa Ferrari
2) 26.1 - Shawn Johnson
2) 26.1 - Jade Barbosa
4) 25.9 - Steliana Nistor
5) 25.6 - Daria Joura
6) 25.5 - Shayla Worley
6) 25.5 - Nastia Liukin
8) 25.4 - Jiang Yuyuan
9) 25.0 - Beth Tweddle
10) 24.6 - Ekaterina Kramerenko
11) 24.5 - Yulia Lozhecko

If everyone brings these upgrades to Beijing, I'll be expecting Ferrari as new AA-Champ. And you know what, I'm very happy with that. The reason why Ferrari has been so hated on is because she won 2006 with a fall, which happened to be the first World Championships since the new code has been debuted. If she would have won without a fall, I feel many more people would appreciate her than what they do.

*Dream Podium*
1) Jade Barbosa
2) Daria Joura
3) Shayla Worley

Random Scores from Worlds.

So I was looking through the scores from qualifying at these years Worlds and found a few things that you might like.

Floor Exericse
-Shayla Worley scored a 14.650, was the 3rd best floor worker from the USA, and made it to 11th place, only 1 spot away from being a reserve.
-World Champion Shawn Johnson qualified 4th with a 15.150, .1 lower than in the finals.
-Cheng Fei, Alicia Sacramone, and Beth Tweddle all scored either the same or higher in qualifying on floor than Shawn Johnson did in event finals.
-Daria Joura and Shawn Johnson were given the same A-Scores in qualifying, same as Lauren Mitchell (6.100)
-Daiane Dos Santos was the highest qualifier from Brazil.
-The Lowest Score to make event finals was Jiang Yuyuan with a 14.750. Gymnasts Steliana Nistor, Yulia Lozhecko, and Daria Joura scored higher than that in the All-Around competition.

Uneven Bars
-In qualifications, Beth Tweddle qualified 3rd and Yang Yilin 4th. In finals, those switched.
-Three gymnasts qualified to the last spot of the final, but Hong Su Jong made it because she had the highest B-Score of the three [other two were Cha Yong Hwa and Daria Zgoba]
-Cha Yong Hwa had the highest A-Score on uneven bars in the competition with a 7.4
-The Lowest score in qualification to make the finals was Hong Su Jong's 15.525. Anja Brinker scored higher than this in the All-Around.

Balance Beam
-Lauren Mitchell qualified 11th, with the Top 8 going to the finals. But, because of the 2-Per Country rule, Sandra Izbasa, Alicia Sacramone, and Shayla Worley were all bumped out of the Top 8.
-Xiao Sha and Li Shanshan were the only 2 gymnasts who had A-Scores over 7.0
-The Lowest score in qualification to make the finals was 15.450 by Isabelle Severino and Lauren Mitchell. Vanessa Ferrari, Xiao Sha, and Yulia Lozhecko all scored higher than that in the AA Competition.
